I am so far behind! Trying to work, run a side business, volunteer for the bmx track, volunteer for NATCA (google it, it's easier), keep up with Ryan's racing and this blog isn't working. I'll have kart updates posted by tomorrow, I promise. wink, wink |

NBL Blue Ridge Nationals - Lexington, VA

Ryan's first bmx race in 2010 as a 9 Novice on his new bike went well. He got a lot of practice/break-in time in before the pre-race. The track is in great shape and he was looking smoother as the day went on. Nothing like moving up an age group and having to figure out a bigger bike all in one day.
He did well. He ran 3rd in his two motos and finished fourth in his main. Tomorrow should be a fun National day one. He's getting to race some kids that he's never raced before on a tight fast track. Great experience for him. More updates tomorrow night after we get home. |

Well no racing today. The area got pounded with 16+ inches of snow and we couldn't get out of our neighborhood. The winter league will resume after the New Year. We'll get Ryan to the track for some practice during the break and have him ready to go in January. Until then enjoy the holidays, I have a new race bike to build. |

Big Weekend Coming Up!

I hope everyone had a great holiday. We actually didn't go racing after Christmas for the first time in 4 years. It was nice to spend time with family and relax.
Well relaxation time is over. Next weekend is a big racing weekend. BMX at the NBL Blue Ridge Nationals on Friday and Saturday and then kart racing on Sunday at Allsports GP. Check back Monday for all the racing details. Until then, have a great week! |

Allsports GP Winter League Round 2
Today was the Mini-GP format. 15 lap qualifier and 2-30 lap races. 14 drivers split into 2 groups by previous lap times.
Ryan found himself in group A this week. He ran a solid 15 lap average of 26.566 and a fast lap of 25.321. This qualified him 3rd for the first race. This is almost 1 1/2 sec faster average then last week.
Race 1 went off with out any major incidents just good clean racing. Ryan finished 2nd with an average of 26.364 and a personal best lap of 25.050.
Race 2 was a little more dramatic. There were several spin outs and warnings to various drivers for bumping. One driver had to make a trip to the "sin bin" for a time penalty. Ryan ran a good race and made a very nice save missing two karts that spun out and ended across the track. He ran an average of 27.807 and a fast lap of 25.430.
The points should be out on Monday and we'll see how the championship points race pans out. Round 3 next Sunday. They are planning an alternate track configuration next week to shake things up. I can't wait. It should be fun.
